EPUT Staff Strengthening Partnerships in Zimbabwe
Two staff members joined other UK mental health professionals to share their knowledge and skills with colleagues in Zimbabwe. Practice Development Lead Nurse Lucia Vambe founded the Zimbabwe Life Project, which is supported by the NHS.
She travelled on 29 October with Dr Fiona Nolan, Clinical Professor of Mental Health Nursing at Anglia Ruskin University (ARU), who has an honorary appointment with EPUT and is Chair of the ZLP Board of Trustees.
This mission represented a significant step in strengthening the partnerships between UK and Zimbabwean mental health services. The collaboration focused on:
- Knowledge transfer and skills sharing
- Building sustainable partnerships
- Developing training programs
- Establishing ongoing support networks
The success of this mission has paved the way for continued collaboration and has demonstrated the value of international partnerships in improving mental health care.
